Why I don't like the Anglosphere

According to Iain Murray on the England's Sword site (whose Tory Revival site still has an advertising banner), the Times is getting religion on the Anglosphere.

So why don't I like it? To many Conservatives the Anglosphere is the alternative to Europe. They don't have to appear xenophobic, but they are now the dynamic ones looking across oceans and reaching out to their capitalist brethren. The attractions are obvious, but in the end flawed.

Firstly it underestimates Britain's strength. We are the world's fourth largest economy and are situated in an easily defended area off one of the more peaceful areas in the world. We do not need to become a semi-independent colony of America.

For that's what we will be under any meaningful Anglosphere project (and if you don't mean it then why propose it?).
