Turkish Delight

Colby Cosh has a little piece on why Turkey should never be included in EU enlargement. They're not democratic now, and we don't really want to make them democratic either. Pretty much the problem with the whole arab world, whatever the warbloggers think - with the crucial difference that no one is seriously talking about bringing Syria, Egypt or Iraq into the EU.

Of course Britain shouldn't be in there anyway, but that's another argument.
