Manful Doubts

Junius shows doubts about the peace movement. it's not that he's convinced by the case for the war (democracy in Iraq is pretty difficult without a demos) but that he simply doesn't like the mixture of Muslim fundamentalists and Socialist Worker's drones that lead the demos.

I know what he means. It's one of the many reasons that I don't go on the demos. However Chris Betram should ignore them. They are against the American action in Iraq. The question for British subjects like Chris and myself is whether Britain should be involved in this fight. That is the political question, the question as to whether America and Iraq should be knocking chunks out of each other is an academic question along the same lines of who should have won the Civil War.

Once we seperate the two questions, should Britain be involved in this war and should there be a war at all the answers should come more easily.
