Zim Watch

Although the election campaign is starting, it's a quiet day. Mugabe has said nasty things about whites in general and the British in particular. The Zanu elite seem to be cracking up a bit further, with semi-public arguments in Parliament, while the press bill is being watered down further and some protesting journalists have been released. The Harare mayoral race is scheduled for next week, which should be an opposition landslide.

I asked in an earlier entry whether anyone read any of these updates, and I've found a couple of surprising fans. Marxist Magnus the Stalinist station-master has quoted me approvingly along with Scargill's Socialist Labour Party, now that is an odd coupling, and Mark Byron has also linked to Zim Watch.
